Casting Vision for City Movements at Lausanne
At the recent Fourth Lausanne Congress in Seoul, South Korea, Mac Pier, (founder), Bob Doll (board chair), Mark Visvasam (South Asia), and Sona Kazanjian (Middle East) shared a presentation to 5,200 delegates about MOVEMENT.ORG’s work in key cities around the world in the last 15 years.
“The majority of the globe now lives in sizable cities. By 2050, it is estimated that 68% of the world’s population will live in cities,” said Mac Pier. “How can we reach these vast people groups? They will be reached by city gospel movements that follow the strategies modeled in the Book of Acts. Cities shape culture, movements shape cities, and leaders catalyze movements.”
The theme of the Lausanne Congress, held September 22-28, was “Let the Church Declare and Display Christ Together.” Lausanne was founded in 1974 by Billy Graham and John Stott with an emphasis on unity, global evangelism and world missions.
